MiWarner Recorded Music has appointed Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda as its new Community Innovation Advisor. The track tech pioneer will paint with trade and management groups to shape the company’s artist-centric strategy for web3. Warner strives to collaborate with artists to manifest their ingenious visions. This includes developing communities across platforms and exploring new commodities, researches and revenue streams.
Max Lousada, CEO of Warner, is assured of the partnership with Mike Shinoda:
“Central to our DNA at Warner is that we start with the artist experience,” Lousada shared in a contemporary commentary. “As a passionate creative who is deeply rooted in the rapidly evolving world of Web3, Mike’s perspective here will be invaluable. As we continue to accelerate deals and build our expertise across the business, together we will navigate the opportunities at the intersection of music and technology with thoughtfulness and authenticity – for the benefit of our entire musical community.”
The enthusiasm is no doubt mutual on Mike Shinoda’s section:
“There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to Web3; every artist and community is unique,” he added. “Warner has taken some strong first steps in this area and I look forward to playing a part in further exploration – supporting artists in creating new opportunities and connecting with fans in unimaginable new ways.”
Shinoda will play an important role in experimenting with new and emerging applied sciences.
It is noteworthy that he is known for breaking new ground in terms of tracks, content material and fan engagement. Not to mention that Linkin Park was once one of the first to discover avenues related to Twitch and Web3. Mike Shinoda’s personal ‘Happy Endings’ was once the primary single Warner debuting as NFT. In reality, his “Ziggurats” project was the industry’s first generative NFT mixtape ever. The project consisted of 5,000 distinctive mini-albums produced from authentic audio and visible layers.
The Long Term of Warner Music in Web3
Warner has also delved into web3, partnering with Roblox, The Sandbox, Genies, Griffin Gaming, Blockparty, OneOf, and Splinterland to name a few. Pilots for David Guetta in Roblox and virtual Genies avatars for stars related to Michael Bublé, Cardi B and CKay. In addition, they’ve introduced a number of NFTs, along with a hi-res virtual symbol of the unique lyrics sheets from Matchbox Twenty’s mega-hit “Unwell” and Rico Nasty’s “OHFR?” NFT drop on SuperRare. It will probably be funny to see what Mike Shinoda brings to the station.
