Nelson Mandela’s Arrest Warrant Offered As NFT To Borrow Heritage Website
The proceeds from the sale will lend a helping hand to Liliesleaf Museum Heritage Site, in line with Ahren Posthumus, CEO of Momint. This helps the “museum sites stay afloat,” Posthumus said in an interview via Bloomberg. With the disruptions in the industry caused by Covid-19, the budget will lend a hand to revitalize the website and “keep history alive”.
In addition, the patron saint of the NFT will be given the unique right of access to the unique record in the Liliesleaf Museum. “The ink is visible through the paper of the high-definition scan,” says Posthumus.
Liliesleaf Farm served as a conservation area for ANC activists working with Nelson Mandela. fought
In the 1960s, Liliesleaf Farm was once a suburb of Johannesburg. It was currently a protected area for African National Congress activists. However, South African police raided the farm in 1963 and arrested a number of ANC leaders and activists. They were later tried and prosecuted in the Rivonia trial.
Nelson Mandela, first arrested in 1961 for treason, went through a number of trials and arrests before being sentenced to prison in 1962. Later in 1963, he turned into some of the suspects in the Rivonia trial, arrested along with several ANC activists from the Liliesleaf Farm.
Mandela spent the first 18 of his 27 years in prison in the brutal Robben Island prison. After he stepped down as president in 1999, he painted the My Robben Island, which reflected his personal view of the position. This month, Bonham’s public sales area offered his artwork as NFTs on the Nifty Gateway platform.
Nelson Mandela has dedicated his life to the fight for justice and inequality in South Africa. His famous quote, “It always seems impossible until it’s done,” shows much of his interest and tenacity in achieving his goals. Mandela’s stories will undoubtedly continue to inspire the many people within the NFT group and the people around the world.
